Phantasia freezes time and all enemies within a certain radius for a few seconds while fully charging the player’s weapons, giving them an opportunity to deal massive damage. When timed correctly, dodging just before an enemy attack activates a so-called “phantasia” mode. They can dodge in any direction, but they have a limited amount of stamina.
Players fight enemies in hack-and-slash combat by swapping between different weapons and using their special attacks. There are other playable characters known as Simulacra that are obtained throughout the game and used with certain weapons. Players use a third-person perspective and take the role of a nomad who travels the world, interacts with NPCs, collects items, and battles mutant creatures and hostile forces. Life on the planet consists mainly of mutants that appeared after a cataclysm nearly wiped out human civilization. The game takes place in the distant future on the alien planet “Aida,” which is tainted with a mysterious radioactive energy called Omnium. Tower of Fantasy is an open-world action RPG that can be played for free.
